Week 4 was the wildest week in the NFL yet as multiple favorites lost outright and several of the best teams in the NFL (Rams, Cowboys, Bills) all suffered their first losses of the season. Today, we are taking a look at the ten best bets for Week 5 of the 2019 NFL season.
One of the most important matchups of Week 5 features the Falcons traveling to Houston take on the Texans. Both teams need a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. While both teams have great offenses, 49.5 points seems high as the under has hit in six straight home games for the Texans.
The Steelers saved their season with a Monday Night Football win over the Bengals and will now take on the Ravens in Week 5. Pittsburgh is a 3.5-point home underdog against the Ravens, who have allowed 90 points in their last three games. Expect this game to be close and for the Steelers to cover at home.
The Vikings were embarrassed last week against the Bears in Chicago, but don't expect that to become a trend. They are giving 5.5 points to the Giants in New York, but don't be surprised if this turns into a rout in favor of the Vikings. Their defense should be able to limit Daniel Jones enough to beat them by a touchdown or more.
Both the Cardinals and the Bengals are searching for their first win of the season, but these two teams appear to be heading in opposite directions.
The Cardinals have a fast and inexperienced team, while the Bengals look old and slow. Expect Kyler Murray to have a monster performance as Arizona should get their first win of the season in Cincinnati.
The Bears will take on the Raiders in London in what is going to be known as the Khalil Mack revenge game. While Mitch Trubisky won't play in this contest, Chase Daniel wasn't bad as his replacement last week. Look for Mack to terrorize the Raiders offense and for Chicago to beat the Raiders across the pond.
A week ago, this game looked like it was going to be a shoot-out in Dallas.
But with players such as Tyron Smith, Davante Adams and Michael Gallup all unlikely to play, the game could turn into a slobber-knocker. Look for both teams to try to establish the run, play good defense, and keep the score down. Don't be surprised if this turns into a 20-17 type of contest.
After New England and Kansas City, you can make a case that the Buffalo Bills are the third-best team in the AFC.
In Week 5, they will take on the "Jekyll and Hyde" Tennessee Titans. Look for Buffalo's defense to clamp down on the Titans' offense and gain their fourth win of the season.
After two impressive wins against the Seahawks and Cowboys, Teddy Bridgewater and the Saints will take on the high-flying Buccaneers in New Orleans. Expect another run-heavy, conservative game-plan from the Saints on Sunday as they look to improve to 4-1 despite the absence of Drew Brees.
The Chiefs nearly lost to the Lions in Detroit in Week 4, but they are back at home in primetime in Week 5. With multiple of the Colts' best defenders likely out again this week, expect this one to get ugly quickly in Kansas City.
After a week off, the 49ers will host the Browns on Monday Night Football. But with Cleveland still missing multiple defenders in the secondary, San Francisco should have no problem throwing the ball all over the field against Cleveland. Expect the 49ers to win by more than a touchdown on Monday night.
