With sports betting officially becoming legal in the state of New Jersey midway through last year, the Mid-Atlantic gambling nucleus continues to take full advantage of the newly implemented law.

This time around, the world-renowned Golden Nugget has become the latest entity to dive head first into the sports gambling industry en route to launching both an online and mobile sportsbook, according to an official release. It is also worth noting that the Golden Nugget has now become the 13th online casino available to New Jersey bettors.

“We are very pleased to bring sports betting to our online and mobile casino patrons,” Senior Vice President and General Manager of Golden Nugget Online Gaming Thomas Winter said in the aforementioned release.

“We have worked with our partners Scientific Games and SB Tech to bring the best that an online casino and sportsbook can offer to New Jersey players. The website and apps look really nice, early feedback from patrons is extremely positive and we look forward to adding more innovative features to make the player’s experience even more exciting and rewarding in the coming months.”

One Easy Layup Gets Blocked

Jumping into the sports betting waters with both feet, the Golden Nugget’s online and mobile sportsbooks already feature all the major sports – outside of one notable omission. Because of the entity’s affiliate with the NBA’s Houston Rockets, the ever-popular basketball league cannot be found under the Golden Nugget’s sportsbook umbrella.

”Due to Golden Nugget's affiliation with the NBA Houston Rockets, current New Jersey regulations prohibit us from offering NBA bets at this time,” reads the company’s official sports betting webpage.

However, it is not all bad news for sports bettors in the professional basketball realm as the Golden Nugget does in fact offer the capability to place wagers on both Euroleague basketball and FIBA World Cup matches.

Making its way outside the box in terms of professional football as well, the Golden Nugget has managed to become just the second non-affiliated sportsbook in the state of New Jersey to offer Alliance of American Football odds.

Standing Out in the New Jersey Market

Because of the volume in which these sportsbooks are popping up, it seems as though the vast majority of them are attempting to stand apart from the rest by creating new and interesting ways to earn extra cash.

In this instance, the Golden Nugget has already introduced both “Golden Lines” and “Parlay Boost.” While the “Golden Lines” are being classified as a variety of daily odds boosts across different lines, the “Parlay Boost” increases the odds of a parlay with three or more legs with incrementally higher percentages.

Due to the fact that New Jersey has remained the home of the world-famous Atlantic City since all the way back to 1800s, it comes as absolutely no surprise that casinos and other major brands are wasting absolutely no time in terms of capitalizing on the legalization of sports betting.

In fact, the Golden Nugget’s online casino already serves as Atlantic City’s leader among online casinos at $12.2 million in revenue. Not only that, but the Golden Nugget nearly doubles the next player in line as Resorts currently stands at $6.4 million in revenue.
