On Sept. 5, the Resorts World Catskills Casino Resort in Monticello, New York will launch its sportsbook lounge, right at the start of the 2019-20 NFL season.
The Resorts World Catskills in the newest casino in Upstate New York and the closest to Manhattan, under two hours away. It is now the fourth commercial casino to legalize sports betting in New York State.
The sportsbook will give all customers the ability to make bets and watch games of interest inside the casino floor simultaneously.
The lounge, named Sportsbook360, will have over 35 televisions set up in a 360-degree arc surrounding the central bar, and a 9-by-16-foot centerpiece screen.
Furthermore, the Sportsbook360 lounge will take up about 6,000 square feet of space on the casino floor. It will have a full bar with more than 100 seats. The casino itself features 1,600 slot machines and more than 150 table games.

“We are committed to providing unparalleled gaming in the region and the sophistication of our sportsbook perfectly complements our diverse gaming offerings, allowing patrons to watch games, place wagers, and enjoy even more entertainment and traditional casino gaming, all within close proximity to the New York Metro Area.”
Events begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Following the trend of celebrity first bets, former New York Jets wide receiver Santana Moss and former New York Knicks players Larry Johnson and John Starks will place the first bets.
There will be a Q&A the three longtime New York pro athletes with sports trivia alongside and a watch party for the NFL kickoff game between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears.
Customers who show up and make a bet all through the weekend will get a free Sportsbook 360 hat. The first 30 people who attend the kickoff party and show their betting slips will get a “Sportsbook 360 swag bag,” according to the press release.
A sports book should thrive in the area because it’s much closer to New York City.
